Fragment is a very enigmatic piece. It becomes a different object with the changing light, and with every touch. A curve of a shoulder emerges, or perhaps a feather, a wing or a leaf. It was made to be touched and experienced - so tactile and solid, yet with a lightness and grace of form.

This name of this piece reflects both the nature of sculpting from a personal perspective - the rythmic sound and repetitive movement of the chisel on stone bring on a state of calm reflection - and the nature of the finished sculpture, as though through meditative movement of the top piece, the marble has slowly been ground and shaped. It is certainly an interactive piece - use of gesture and motion help to focus the mind.
